 OPV - The prestige pharmaceutical company for quality.-1950s :The business started as a small retail pharmacy in company in Vietnam. Hue, Central Vietnam.
OPV was founded with the acquisition of a French company, Office Pharmaceutique du Vietnam - from which the present name of OPV is derived.
-1970s: OPV developed into the business started as a largest pharmaceutical small retail pharmacy in company in Vietnam.
OPV was the exclusive licensee for importation and manufacturing for world leading multinational pharmaceutical companies, such as Bayer, Ciba Geigy, Mead Johnson, Merck Sharp & Dohme, Roche, Sandoz, Smith Kline & French, Upjohn, and Warner Lambert. OPV built the largest and most advanced pharmaceutical factory in Vietnam - which is now part of one of the largest state-owned pharmaceutical companies, Central Pharmaceutical Company No.24. OPV built an infant formula factory in a joint venture with Nestle (under the name Dielac) - this factory is now part of Vinamilk, the largest milk company in Vietnam.
-1993 - 1994: OPV resumed the distribution and marketing of pharmaceuticals in Vietnam with the importation of products of multinational companies and OPV own brands.
-1995 - 1999 : OPV obtained a foreign investment license to build a new GMP pharmaceutical factory with an investment cost of $20 million.OPV continued to develop operations in the marketing and distribution of pharmaceuticals.
- 2001: OPV started the construction of its new GMP pharmaceutical factory.
- 2003 :Otsuka OPV Company was established as a joint venture between OPV, Otsuka Pharmaceutical Company (a leading Japanese pharmaceutical company) and Nomura Trading Company (a large Japanese trading company), to manufacture and market large-volume parenteral solutions in Vietnam.OPV obtained the certificates for GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and GSP (Good Storage Practice) from the Vietnam Ministry of Health.OPV started commercial production at the factory starting August 2003.
-2005 : OPV obtained the certificates for WHO GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), WHO GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and WHO GSP (Good Storage Practice) from the Vietnam Ministry of Health. GSK (GlaxoSmithKline) - OPV sign production cooperation agreement to produce GSK famous products at OPV factory
-2006 : OPV aims to become the PARTNER OF CHOICE of multinational companies and leading Vietnamese healthcare organizations for quality pharmaceuticals and consumer healthcare products in Vietnam |
